Product Recall Information

Friedrich Air Conditioning, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is conducting a voluntary recall of certain Kühl Q and Kühl S Room Air Conditioner units with Motors 1000581 or 1000582 because the control board inside the motor may fail, posing a fire and burn hazard. The impacted units were manufactured between January 28, 2026, and March 27, 2026.

Step 1 – Model Number Confirmation:

To determine if your unit is covered by the recall, you must first locate the model number. The following Models are covered by the recall:

The model number is located on the rating plate that is inside the unit. To view the rating plate, carefully open the front white panel.

If your model number is one of the models listed, below go to step 2.

If your serial number is within the range listed below, go to Step 3. Your unit may be covered by the recall.

After Friedrich confirms that your unit has a serial number that is subject to the recall, you will receive instructions on how to obtain a refund or free replacement unit. Customers with impacted air conditioning units other than Model KHVQ10B11A will receive a replacement air conditioner free of charge. Consumers with impacted Model KHVQ10B11A air conditioning units will receive a refund.
