FRIEDRICH DONATES AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT TO ROY MAAS YOUTH ALTERNATIVES TO PROVIDE RELIEF FOR AT-RISK YOUTH

Contact: Darcie Meihoff, on behalf of Friedrich, (971) 998-3782 or darcie@leoketel.com.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas–Friedrich Air Conditioning Co., a leading U.S.-based manufacturer of heating, cooling and other room air conditioning products, has donated a variety of A/C products to the Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) Turning Point Transitional Living, a nonprofit program that helps local at-risk young adults (age18-24) learn how to live productive, independent lives.

RMYA Turning Point recently opened its sixth home in San Antonio, named the “Annie Laurie” House, designed to assist youth who need a safe place to live and have aged out of foster care or who are homeless. It is the only program of its kind in San Antonio, housing up to 32 youth at a time in this 18-month program.

Friedrich provided a multi-zone ductless mini-split system and four Friedrich Kühl window air conditioning units to help ensure the new 1,385 square foot home is a comfortable, welcoming place for its occupants, many of whom came from abusive and neglectful homes or who literally had no place to go after foster care. The Annie Laurie home will provide more at-risk young adults with a supervised, safe and secure place to live while learning how to care for themselves so that they can become independent, productive and empowered members of the community.

“Gaining the support of Friedrich Air Conditioning as a donor sponsor for the Annie Laurie Turning Point home was a Godsend. They offered help just when we were in great need of HVAC equipment to finish this newly renovated house,” said Gail Ribalta, Chief Development and Administrative Officer for RMYA. “We are greatly appreciative of their extremely generous help and expertise, and proud that they have become a community partner in making this house a refuge for so many deserving San Antonio youth.”

The company’s donation included a Friedrich Floating AirÒ Series two-ton ductless split system that will serve to provide efficient heating and cooling capabilities in the shared areas of the home, including the kitchen and living spaces. Friedrich’s Floating Air Series offers the latest in inverter technology innovation, which quietly varies the compressor and indoor fan speeds, smoothly and quickly adjusting to the desired temperature automatically while helping maximize energy efficiency. Friedrich also provided a Kühl window A/C unit for each of the home’s three separate bedrooms and dining room. Known for quiet operation and powerful performance, these units will provide essential, customizable cooling capabilities to help ensure a comfortable and restful environment for the residents. Friedrich offers a wide range of customizable, efficient room air conditioner solutions, which offer flexibility to address the unique needs of both residential and multi-family spaces.

“The RMYA Turning Point Transitional Living program provides such an important service for youth in this community who might otherwise fall through the cracks,” said Lionel Lopez, Director of Engineering at Friedrich Air Conditioning. “Caring for our local community and knowing that our products are providing great relief for those in need are aligned with our corporate and employee values, and we are proud to support this essential cause.”

Contact: Darcie Meihoff, on behalf of Friedrich, (971) 998-3782 or darcie@leoketel.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 27, 2019

SAN ANTONIO, Texas–Friedrich Air Conditioning Co., a leading U.S.-based manufacturer of heating, cooling and other room air conditioning products, has announced it will be the official corporate sponsor of the Long Island Youth Wellness Summit to help prevent teen suicide in Nassau County, New York.

The summit, held March 19, is designed to provide sophomore and junior-level students, staff and administrators of Nassau County public and private high schools with the necessary resources to promote overall wellness and mental health. The daylong event is led by The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide (SPTS), and will include suicide awareness and prevention practices, such as helping students learn coping skills, self-care and how to increase self-confidence. Workshops also will teach staff the role of “Trusted Adults” and help support suicide prevention and self-care among their students.

While SPTS Youth Wellness Summits have been held in several New Jersey counties for the past five years, this is the first time it is being brought to Long Island, led by the efforts of Stacy Brief, a junior majoring in Social Work at Adelphi University. According to organizers, support from businesses and community partners is essential for helping reach a greater number of schools and students.

“SPTS has been successfully producing Youth Wellness Summits in New Jersey counties for the past five years, and we’re grateful for this opportunity to expand our presence,” said Dawn Doherty, SPTS Executive Director. “We simply couldn’t bring these resources and much-needed support to Long Island students without community partners like Friedrich.”

For nearly 70 years, the Friedrich brand has been an institution in the New York and New Jersey area, providing innovative room air conditioning solutions for millions of residents. According to Friedrich CEO Chuck Campbell, being involved in important causes that affect local communities where the company does business is a strong fit with its values.

“Friedrich is committed to communities where we operate,” said Campbell. “We are honored to help support this vital cause that is working to make a truly profound and important difference for young people and families.”

Kühl for school: Friedrich makes the grade for greater energy efficiency management

SAN ANTONIO, Texas– Take a school on a limited budget, add the latest HVAC technology and it equals the perfect teachable moment for greater efficiency, convenience and comfort.

That’s the result of a recent donation from Friedrich, a leading U.S.-based air conditioning manufacturer, to Mount Sacred Heart, a pre-K-8 grade school in San Antonio, Texas. Friedrich is installing 10 new state-of-the-art, top-rated Kühl room A/C units at the school to replace a hodgepodge of older, inefficient units made from a variety of other manufacturers that are outmoded and in various stages of disrepair.

“Remote management will contribute to significant energy savings,” said Brittany Calderon, of Friedrich. “These units also offer customizable room-by-room comfort and are extremely convenient for the school to operate. Remote management means not worrying about whether someone forgot to turn off the A/C and the potential wasted energy that may result.”

Quiet, precise and reliable, Kühl represents the next generation of room air conditioners and not only for its smarts. Lauded for its sleek style that takes the concept of room air conditioners to a whole new level, Kühl is also a powerhouse with a high energy efficiency IQ. The Kühl line has cooling-only models and models with heat (heat pump or electric heat) in a full range of capacities so they can operate as year-round central-like systems. The largest Kühl unit can produce up to 36,000 BTUs and ENERGY STAR® qualified models are available in a variety of different sizes. Friedrich is the only U.S. manufacturer to offer an entire line of room air conditioners with smart grid technology, making it possible for utilities to connect, monitor and control the units on the backend during times of strain on the power grid.

“When it comes to creating the optimal learning environment, comfort is essential,” said Veronica Beck, principal of Mount Sacred Heart School. “We are so grateful to Friedrich for this donation. It’s already making a major difference in helping us control energy costs while maintaining a consistent, comfortable environment for our students and staff.”

Friedrich Kühl units are available through authorized dealers and retailers throughout the nation. Visit www.friedrich.com for more information.

MAJOR DONATION FROM FRIEDRICH HELPS TRANSFORM VENTURA CHILDREN’S MUSEUM DREAM INTO REALITY

For images, to set up interviews or for more information, contact: Darcie Meihoff, on behalf of Friedrich, (971) 998-3782 or darciepdx@gmail.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 20, 2018

SAN ANTONIO, Texas–Keeping cool while dreaming big for kids.

That’s the motivation behind Friedrich’s latest major donation to help turn the dream of KidSTREAM Children’s Museum in Ventura County into a reality. Friedrich has become the first major manufacturer to donate to the nonprofit museum, whose vision is to create a facility for all children in the community to have opportunities to explore science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and math (STREAM) in a fun, interactive learning environment.

With designs to transform a large, former 30,000-square-foot library into the new Ventura County children’s museum, KidSTREAM is first creating a 1,200-square-foot “preview room” to host and elicit support from donors, officials and community members. With no HVAC system, cooling and heating the preview space was an essential part of the first phase of the renovation.

Friedrich donated two of its high-performance ductless units to KidSTREAM to help provide all-season cooling and heating comfort for the newly-created space. Locally-operated AirWorks Solutions provided the installation, ongoing maintenance and service of the units and Friedrich’s distribution partner, Johnstone Supply, helped facilitate the project and provided equipment for the donated system.

“Friedrich prides itself on innovation, engineering and technology, so being able to support educational efforts like KidSTREAM is an excellent fit for us,” said Chuck Campbell, CEO of Friedrich. “And our ductless systems are perfect for a challenging project of this type. Because they don’t require any ductwork, they work for nearly any space. They also are extremely efficient, quiet and offer year-round comfort.”

As a nonprofit, saving money on long-term operation costs and ensuring sustainability are top priorities for KidSTREAM. The Friedrich ductless system will provide the additional benefits of being exceptionally energy efficient, helping save money on utility bills and reducing environmental impacts long-term.

“We are so incredibly grateful for this donation,” said Kristie Akl, president of KidSTREAM. “It will go a long way towards us realizing our goal and providing a wonderful, comfortable space for kids in our community to explore and learn.”

FRIEDRICH MAKES MASSIVE DONATION TO HELP HOMELESS IN CENTRAL TEXAS COMMUNITY

Contact: Darcie Meihoff, on behalf of Friedrich, (971) 998-3782 or darcie@leoketel.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 30, 2018

SAN ANTONIO, Texas–When you’re homeless, getting off the streets is hard enough and dreams of living in comfort and dignity can seem far out of reach.

But working together with Austin-based nonprofit Mobile Loaves & Fishes, Friedrich Air Conditioning Co. is turning that dream into a reality for more people lifted off the streets in the Central Texas region. Friedrich has made a massive donation of 30 ductless heating and cooling systems to support the second development phase of the Community First! Village, a program of Mobile Loaves & Fishes which helps provide sustainable shelter and community support for nearly 300 residents.

Community First! homes include tiny 175-square-foot homes and RVs, which are equipped with electricity, but not HVAC capacity–until now. With Austin’s blistering summer temperatures and winter cold snaps that can sometimes dip into the teens, finding an efficient heating and cooling solution was top priority for the nonprofit organization in order to provide safe, effective comfort for its occupants no matter what the season.

Friedrich responded with a donation of 30 Floating Air Series Ductless Split Systems that provide heating and cooling comfort and convenience year-round, and can be installed without ductwork, simplifying the installation process. Friedrich’s Floating Air Series offers the latest in inverter technology innovation, which quietly varies the compressor and indoor fan speeds to smoothly and quickly adjust to the desired temperature automatically, helping maximize energy efficiency which will help control operating costs over the long run.

Installation of the Floating Air Series systems in the Community First! homes is taking place this month, with the support of Johnstone Supply, a major wholesaler of Friedrich, and Mobile Loaves & Fishes volunteers. The work is being done in coordination with Restaurant Facilities Management Association (RFMA), a trade association that is spearheading a major volunteer project benefiting Mobile Loaves & Fishes.

“The donation of A/C’s from Friedrich is tremendous. The neighbors at Mobile Loaves & Fishes are so thankful to have conditioned air to help them cope and restore their dignity and pride. This makes all the difference in the world and they are very grateful,” said Jeff Dover, RFMA’s facilities resource manager.

While Friedrich has contributed essential A/C solutions ranging from ductless systems to state-of-the-art room A/Cs to a number of worthy causes in recent years, this is one of the largest single donations made to date by the company. The Loaves and Fishes effort is in partnership with the Restaurant Facility Management Association who first approached Friedrich, in addition to Johnstone Supply.

“Helping support our community and those in need has always been core to our corporate values,” said Chuck Campbell, CEO of Friedrich. “Our A/C solutions help bring comfort and relief to thousands of people each and every day, and we’re proud to partner together with organizations like Loaves & Fishes who are working to make a real difference for people in need in our own home state.”
