Save up to $747 on Electric Bills
You can save hundreds of dollars in electric bills by buying an energy efficient air conditioner. Look for models with high EERs (energy efficiency ratios) and the Energy Star symbol. For example, a ten year savings for a full point difference in EER can result in as much as $747. We compared operating costs of our EM24L35 with an EER of 9.5 to an older unit with an 8.5 EER. We assumed 2200 operating hours per year at 10.8 cents ($.108) per kw/hour for a total savings of $747. That's like getting a free air conditioner!
