Energy Efficient Advanced Inverter Technology
Reach the desired temperature faster, maintain it more accurately and reduce energy costs. Inverter technology allows Friedrich ductless split systems to adjust capacity and cooling output to match demand so efficiency is maximized. The result is a new level of system flexibility and efficiency. For example, an 18,000 BTU/h system will operate even more efficiently as a 15,000 BTU/h unit if that is all that’s needed.
Zone Cooling
Imagine being able to select different temperatures for up to 4 rooms in your house or turn the air conditioner off completely in a room you are not using. That’s the zone cooling flexibility afforded home owners with a ductless split system. One outdoor unit supports up to four individually controlled and sized indoor units.
How It Works
It works very much like a ducted central system in that there is an indoor unit and an outdoor unit. The main difference is that instead of distributing conditioned air to each room via an elaborate system of ducts in the ceiling, a ductless split system uses sleek, fairly flat, wall-mounted units to cool and distribute the conditioned air to each room. Refrigerant lines running between the indoor and outdoor unit make this possible.
Where To Use It
Ductless split systems are so versatile that they can easily solve many cooling and heating dilemmas. Let your imagination go wild. Convert the attic into a home office. Turn the garage into a playroom. Make the sunroom a more comfortable room to be in, even on the hottest days.
Where To Buy It
Because a professional needs to install most ductless split systems, most of our ductless split systems are stocked by distributors who either specialize in HVAC or who include HVAC products as part of a larger offering. However, there are several authorized Friedrich appliance retailers who have recently begun to carry this product. For a complete list of distributors and dealers in your area go to our Dealer Locator. |
Ductless Split Systems
One outdoor unit runs up to 4 independently controlled indoor units which are connected by electrical and refrigerant lines through a small 3 inch hole in an exterior wall. Who knows, may you can manage that project after all. The possibilities are almost endless. Installation will require a professional but a typical installation should only take about 4 hours
