We purchased a Friedrich's air conditioner in the summer of 2004 and installed it in a window on the first floor of our home in the Lake View area of New Orleans. We are just getting to the renovation of the first floor of our flooded house.

Since it was August in New Orleans, the work is hot. The air conditioner that had sat in Katrina flood waters for three weeks was still sitting in the den window. My wife was complaining about the heat and I jokingly said, "Oh no problem, let me turn on the air conditioner." I plugged it in to the new electrical outlet and turned the dial to "Cool."

To our amazement, the motor came on and it began to cool the room. We are so impressed with the obvious quality of your air conditioners that we wanted to share this experience with you. If you would like to see this unit, we still have it in our garage.

My husband and I moved into our house in Tampa, Florida in 1988. There was an existing room addition on the back of the house that had a Friedrich heat/air conditioner installed in the wall. The rest of the house had central heat and air. We never really used that room so the wall unit was seldom used.

We actually did some remodeling a few years after living in the house and removed most of the wall between this additional room and the rest of the house. Thus, this additional room was kept cool by the central heat and air so the wall unit was never used.

A few days ago we had a problem with our central air and had to turn it off until it could be repaired. My husband went and turned on the Friedrich air conditioner. I honestly did not think it would even work. Well, it did work! I was able to use that one air conditioner and a couple fans to keep 1000 square feet of my house cool enough to live in until the central air could be repaired. All I know is that this was the Challenger model and must be at least 19 years old.

I think this is the first time I have been so impressed with a product that I felt compelled to write the company. Thank you for the great product!

I just wanted to say your air conditioners are extremely durable. When I moved into my apartment 5 years ago, the previous tenant had left a Friedrich Model SCO7G10C in the window. Albeit it is long, heavy and looks like an antique -- yet it continues to run year after year and cools my bedroom down on hot days.

Just today, as I was changing the air filter, I looked at the label and seen the air conditioner was made in Feb 1987 - over 20 years ago! Wow.

I've had other A/C units that I bought brand new that only lasted a few years. This really goes to show the quality your company puts out; I'm impressed.

I have tried a lot of different air purifiers (Oreck, Blueair 601, Austin Air, etc.) but have not been happy with any of them until i got the Friedrich C-90B. The performance is amazing and the air is fresh and clean. I can breathe alot better. Keep up the good work.
